Enjoy the best value full day tours Tasmania has available with Map of Tassie Tours.  

We offer a range of personalised full day tours to Tasmania’s most popular destinations along with a few local secrets thrown in.  You can choose from our suggested tour packages or we can customise a tour to suit your needs.   Full day tours run from 6 – 8 hours in length and we provide a drop off and pick up service for tour guests.

Each tour requires a minimum of 2 guests and a maximum of 6, so we can keep your experience customised and personal.  We have a framework or outline for each tour, but we have no schedule so you decide what pace you would like to go. Our full day tours include lunch at a selected destination along the way, whether it be in a local cafe or restaurant or a pre-packed gourmet picnic.

On the North West Gourmet Delights Day Tour you will discover all the magic North West Tasmania has to offer.

Enjoy a scenic drive through local villages set in the backdrop of the Great Western Tiers. Experience the luxury of Roses and Silk of Chudleigh.  Visit the Melita Honey Farm for honey tasting and stop at Three Willows Vineyard to sample some homemade cool climate wines.

Continue to tantalise your tastebuds with a tasting of specialty small goods at Tasmanian Pure Continental Smallgoods and Tasmania’s finest hot-smoked salmon from 41° South Salmon Farm.  Enjoy a late lunch at Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm followed by cheese tastings at Ashgrove Cheese Farm and then wash it all down with a cider tasting at Spreyton Cider Co.

The Explore the North West Coast Day Tour is a combination of fascinating history and spectacular scenery.

First stop is the Pioneer Village Museum in Burnie to discover a little local history, then some light refreshment with your whisky-making lesson at the Hellyers Road Distillery. A picnic lunch or devonshire tea at Allendale Gardens in Smithton where you can explore 2 hectares of gardens before enjoying the view and the chair lift ride to the top of The Nut in Stanley.

Visit the Highfield Historic Site and discover the history of Stanley and explore the restored 19th century Joe Lyons Cottage – Tasmania’s only Australian Prime Minister. Finish the day enjoying Dip Falls and the Big Tree at Mawbanna before heading home.



We depart from Cradle Mountain towards our destination Strahan on the West Coast of Tasmania. First stop is Rosebery where you can choose from a range of activities – Take a 20 min walk to Stitt River Falls; visit the Aerial Ropeway Heritage Display; walk to Montezuma Falls, Tasmania’s highest waterfall; explore the Rosebery Heritage Centre or visit the plaza to view the murals.

Next we visit Zeehan where you can take a scenic walk via the Spray Tunnel at the end of the main street. Lunch will be in Strahan a spectacular coastal town where you can enjoy the view on the docks; visit the second highest lighthouse in the southern hemisphere at Cape Sorell where whales can be seen in the Spring; or view the Huon Pine Gallery and see wood-turners and artists at work.

After lunch we commence our return journey with a stop in Queenstown where you can visit where gold was first discovered in 1883. We can take the Mt Jukes Scenic drive; visit Lake Burbury and the Bird River for an excellent walk along a railway embankment to the ghost town of Pilinger at Kelly’s Basin.

The sawmill is located on Mt Jukes Road approximately 5Km from town. This mill specialises in rainforest timbers including Huon pine, blackwood and sassafras. Visitors are welcome to view the mill at work and purchase from the selection of timbers and tabletops available. We take the scenic drive to Lake Plimsoll from Tullah back to the mountain.
